Welcome to Week 6 of Friends Around the World CAL!!!

You may know our next designer by her ever so popular design Mandala Madness!! (You might even be making it….like me) You guessed it, Helen Shrimpton is our designer this week!!!

Helen Shrimpton has gone from “Hairdresser to Hookoligist”. She ran a successful business as a hairdresser for many many years. But she felt her time in that profession was at an end and felt other things calling her. This is when she decided to hang up her scissors and try something new. Good thing for us, because one of the things she decided to pick up again was crocheting! She learned to crochet sew, knit and other crafty things as a young child. But it wasn’t until a couple of years ago that she began crocheting again. Here she has found her “happy place”. The only problem she’s encountering now is that she has too many design ideas and not enough hands or time to bring them to life. Please stop by her blog at www.crystalandcrochet.com to find out more about her and her beautiful patterns.

Here’s the square description and link for week 7.

A rose by another name is a Rosetta! This square begins with a fun rosette which is framed with a pretty lace border created with chains and trebles. The outer border consists of 3 simple dc rows. It would be beautiful in a single color or several colors.

You can find the link to the pattern on Helen’s blog Crystals and Crochet.

This is a wonderful, well written pattern! I throughly enjoyed making and the possibilities are endless!!! It’s beautiful in one color or many. The sky is the limit on this one.

It’s been so fun seeing you progress each week. Keep those photos coming!

Happy crocheting!

  1. When will Helen be publishing the pattern? I got a 404 error when I clicked your link so I went to the blog homepage but the last post was MM7. So I searched on Ravelry. Nothing 😢
