Ravelry – Samba Vest CAL

Spring has sprung and we’re excited to share our latest CAL, the Samba Vest. The name comes from the yarn name used for the vest, but the design will definitely make you want to dance the Samba!!!  The chic, cool design is easy and will be perfect for those warm Spring evenings. The pattern will be released in three parts, beginning on Friday June 1.

This CAL was designed by our friend, Sarit Grinberg, originally from Netanya, Isreal and currently living in Kfar Yona.  You’ll remember Sarit from her previous CAL, Bilbie and Friends Blanket CAL.

Sarit is happily married to Yuval and proud mother to four wonderful children, three boys (age 16, 11, 6) and one princess daughter (age 13).  She has a degree in Industrial Engineering as well as teaching certificate for Technology Education.  Her technical and creative background has always been a driving force in her life.  She likely received the creative genes from her mother whose hands were always busy with handicrafts while her technical skills came from a father who always dismantled every new thing that came into the house and then put it back together, and always knew how to do/build/fix anything.

Sarit has been knitting and crocheting for pleasure since she was 12 years old. 5 years ago she fulfilled a dream and opened a magical studio for knitting, crochet and craft.

In her studio she designs, creates, sells yarn and teaches many women and children.  And because her daughter is left handed she became specialized in teaching left handed crochet.

The first part of the CAL will be published on  Friday, June 1 and all information and instructions will be on her website, Hatchalot and in Ravelry.

The introduction to the CAL is available here:  Samba Intro

Samba Vest

The instructions are fit to size S-M but the pattern can be adjusted to fit any size. (take into account that changing the size will require additional yarn).  Sarit used 2 skeins of Rozetti Samba Yarn, a medium yarn, [4] 100 g / 147 meters (3.5 oz q 161 yards) and a 12 mm crochet hook.

So go add some Samba music to your playlist, grab your hooks, yarn and join us for this CAL.  You’re gonna love it!

Happy Crocheting!

Margaret
