“Winter Jewelry Box” Beaded Hat

Do you have your yarn and hook ready? Because it’s time to add another piece to your Winter Jewelry Box Set. Today we will be making the Beaded Hat! We are so happy to be hosting this beautiful, quick and affordable Mini CAL on CAL – Crochet A Long Facebook Group. Be sure to join our group, then join the Event so you don’t miss a thing. You will be able to post progress pictures, interact with other CAL’ers and the designer in the event as well as on our group wall.

As with the Beaded Cowl and the Scarf , the Hat is all about texture. Anna has added a little something extra to the hat by making a braided band that goes around the brim and a cute little Pom Pom can be added on top. Pom poms are so trendy right now! Everyone will be wanting to know where you got your hat! The pattern can be found on the designers blog, A Loop of Sunshine .

You will need about 100 grams or 4 ounces of yarn. The pattern was designed with chunky yarn in mind but you can use any yarn you’d like and fit it to your specifications. You’ll also need a large button, hopefully one that matches your Beaded Cowl and a pom pom, (optional)

Here are some beautiful examples of the hats that our testers, videographer and designer made:

(Jo – USA, made with Alpaca yarn)

(Laurene – USA, made with Scarfie yarn , an acrylic/wool blend)

(Anna – designer – France)

(Mary – Canada, made with Alpaca yarn)

(Craig – USA, made with Vannas choice worsted weight acrylic yarn)

(Jane, South Africa, made with Charity yarn)

Craig from Fiber Spider has made a two part video tutorial for the hat. He’s done a great job of explaining how to size the hat and how to make the braids.so be sure to view the videos, they sure are a big help and he’s just all around good company. ❤️
