Truly amazed by the creativity of the participants in this CAL!!! One person’s vision can change a pattern in the most beautiful of ways…..
We would very much like to thank you for participating in the CAL with us before the Christmas Holiday. This was the first time that we have tried something with smaller, individual, quick pieces. Our goal was to bring something easily finished to you, that would also bring a bit of Holiday Cheer to your hook. We had no idea if it would be a complete flop, or if it would be received well. And from the numbers on the blog posts, and the posts in the Facebook Event and our Group….. we are beyond pleased to know that it was received well.
We hope to bring you another Holiday *CAL-a-thon* with the Admin next Christmas (or perhaps we will add in another holiday… Easter, Thanksgiving, etc). We have listened to your suggestions, and will make sure to have the supply list out in full, at least 7 days prior to the start of the first project. As well as having it last Friday evening through Sunday night, with a 2-3 hour break between project release times. This will allow us to still finish the 15+ items, and the main project using them all, within the one weekend…. instead of an entire week.
This has been a learning experience for all of us, as designers, testers, admin, and members…. and we truly appreciate your understanding with the few issues we didn’t expect, yet encountered none the less. I personally learned that one must check the file they are uploading more than twice 🐸🐸 while Laurene learned that even though WordPress shows the article as being there, while one is traversing the Pennsylvania mountains, it truly doesn’t mean it was uploaded and saved. 🙄
We have seen our patterns brought to life in pictures shared in the Facebook Event and Group, and know that we have shared a piece of our traditions with you, and that you have taken the time to read our stories. We are wishing all of our Friends Around the World a Happy Holiday Season. Whether you celebrated Christmas, Chanukah/Hanukkah/Hannukah, Solstice, Kwanzaa, or any of the many other holidays….. we hope that we have brought you at least a tiny bit of relaxation, cheer, and extra holiday spirit.
Please do post a photo of your finished project, wreath, garland, or pile of ornaments… whatever you have personally finished. There will be some prizes (the prize list is not just for fully completed projects, so even if you didn’t make them all, do post pics of what you did make) and there will be some ohhhs and awwwwwws and perhaps even some comments with exclamation marks!!!! Once Laurene is home and completed with her travels, all winning participants will be notified and asked for an address to ship prizes. We have truly enjoyed this and hope that you have as well!
Until next year’s Holiday Season….. HAPPY *CAL-a-thon* to all, and to all a finished WIP!!
