We’re back in New Zealand for week 22! This week’s Friends Around the World square is “Ceiling Rose by Fiona Audain. When Fiona was a child, she lived with her Great Aunt and Uncle where the ‘public’ rooms had the most wonderful “Ceiling Roses”. Fiona would gaze up at the ceiling and and fantasize about having the beautiful roses in her own home someday. While that has never come to pass for her, Fiona found inspiration in the ceiling roses to create a crocheted one for our CAL, a beautiful square that represents a very happy time of her life!
Fiona was born in Tokoroa, North Island New Zealand. Her family moved around the North Island following her fathers work. She eventually met her husband and they too have wandered around New Zealand for work. They recently settled in Eltham, Taranaki, North Island New Zealand. Fiona enjoy’s crocheting and her wonderful husband, Barry, has been helping her with plans for a craft room.
Fiona was thrilled when she was invited to submit a square for the FATW3 CAL. Up until now, she has created things for friends and family only. Here are a few of her creations…
