This week’s release is for the PEONY, a beautiful, often fragrant flower, in a range of colors from deep purple red to pure snow white or sunshine yellow, in late spring and early summer. Peonies are among the most popular garden plants in temperate regions of the United States, Asia and parts of Europe. They are also widely sold as cut flowers and used in arrangements, although generally only available in late spring and early summer, some varieties are available year round through hot house growers. Alaska has a very unique set of growing conditions due to long hours of sunlight creating availability when other growers have completed harvest, and cannot offer more of the sweet smelling blossoms to customers.
What amazing blossoms those are! And Anne has caught the true beauty of these flowers in her crocheted version, such a life like rendition of the flower….. you can almost smell it.
