We’re in the south of Sweden this week! Lina Thorsson has designed our square for week 27. She lives in a lovely town called Halmstad, especially known for it’s wonderful beaches. Tourists flock to Tylosand Strand, one of the best and most popular resort areas with the most beautiful white sand beach. It is the beach and the beautiful ocean sunrises and sunsets that inspired Lina to create “Ocean Sun”. Ocean Sun is a combination of all the things Lina loves about the sea. In the center is the sun and by the end you will actually feel the waves of the ocean. Trust me, you’ll find it a very calming and relaxing combination!
Lina has been crocheting seriously for 4 years but she learned in school when she was about 10. She attempted it every now and then but didn’t get hooked until 2014.
She finds most of her inspiration from Facebook, Pinterest and Ravelry, although she does come up with her own creations from time to time and is currently working on plans for a larger project…stay tuned!
Lina’s other interests are learning to knit, genealogy and she is also a scout leader. She is currently working at a kindergarden and is also an educated health coach keeping in shape by running and working out. Like many of us, Lina believes in moderation, “I try to eat healthy but I also enjoy eating stuff I really like that it’s not that healthy, the balance between those two is the most important. I refer to say that I want to live, not just survive.” I wholeheartedly agree!!!
Lina stays in shape but running and working out.

Important Additional Pattern Info
Don’t forget you will need to add an extra three rounds to your square to achieve the final 48 st/side count which is necessary for joining. You can find the instructions for all squares here. Translations for these additional rounds can be found here. The extra rounds will vary slightly from week to week because the squares vary in ending stitch counts so be sure to follow the directions for each square.
Ocean Sun ends with a 41 stitch count on each side plus 4 corner stitches. You will need to add an additional 7 stitches per side plus 4 ch2 space corners for a total of 48 stitches per side.
