Week 8….. who could forget the beautiful green dancing slave who is tragically eaten by a Rancor???? Or the green guards employed by Jabba???? Well designer Janet Lindner couldn’t either, so off we go with these gorgeous green characters this week!
Species: Twi’lek
Homeworld: Ryloth
Gender: Female
Skin Color: Green
• Oola was a green-skinned female Twi’lek. She devoted herself to dancing, and was trained at a celebrated school. When given the opportunity to choose between two careers, Oola decided to take her chance on Tatooine, a desert planet controlled by the Hutt.
• Oola made her final dance shortly before the arrival of Leia Organa and Chewbacca, as a Twi’lek slave dancer in Jabba the Hutt‘s palace. When Oola pulled on her chain in defiance, Jabba lured her with the chain over the trapdoor beneath his dais, watching as she fell into the Rancor pit to her death.
Interesting Fact:
She was forced to wear skimpy fishnet garments that did little to provide her modesty and wore a collar and chain around her neck.
Homeworld: Gamorr
Porcupine Humanoids
Skin Color: Green, thick and hairless
Distinctions: Upturned nose, fangs, poor eyesight, tusks
• Offworld Gamorreans were a common sight, be they mercenaries or enforcers working for crime lords. Hutt gangster Jabba Desilijic Tiure employed Gamorrean guards throughout his career.
Interesting Fact:
They had a language of their own that sounded like mere grunts and squeals to outsiders. Although they could understand other languages, such as Galactic Basic, they found most of them too difficult to pronounce.
