Who let the DOGS OUT???

The long awaited DOGGHAN CAL is HERE!!! Can you believe it??? I know I have been waiting to see the next creation by Julianne Winter of Ink & Stitches for as long as it has been an idea! The Catghan was a tremendous hit with our members…. and I am sure that the DOGGHAN will be as well. This stunning c2c design has brought to life many different breed of canines having a blast in their square. This compilation of doggos has definitely brought some humor to the crochet scene.

The rectangular shaped pieces in this blanket give it a completely new feeling compared to the normal run of the mill “square” blanket of squares yet still bring the normal shaped throw when completed. A true “puzzle” of pieces to create a fabulous piece in the end.

Our feline🐱 lovers got their blanket…. and now our doggie🐶 lovers will get theirs! Stacey Wilkinson won the Photo Contest in our Facebook group which you can read about HERE and had the privilege of having her canine friend Bucket added to the DOGGHAN CAL from the winning photo!!

And I am sure she is super excited to have this CAL underway as she will be able to see all of the Bucket squares come to life.

Julianne has been busy not only designing this amazing tribute to our canine friends….. but she has also been hard at work on her children’s book and here are some words from Julianne, herself, about this exciting time in her life!

I created the Dogghan pattern and then the pattern testing began. When the pattern testing was over halfway complete, I got an email…

Incorgnito Publishing Press, aka the publishers who I’ve been working with on the Theodore and the Enchanted Bookstore series, were interested in publishing one of my other stories, and wanted to turn it into a series as well. It would be under their children’s book imprint, Corgi Bits, that my books would find their home.

The first book is set for release in the Fall of 2020. This series will be heavily illustrated, akin to the Amelia Fang series by Laura Ellen Anderson. It will have pictures on every spread. Over 100 to be precise. It will be a chapter book for the older side of chapter book readers (ages 7-9). The name of the series is:

Tales of Whimsy

-Book One-

And with that…. I cannot wait for the Fall 2020 release of her Tales of Whimsy: Wishweaver with a HUGE congratulations!!!

And now back to crochet……

We are thinking about the planet and those on it more and more with this pandemic, and wanted something fun to bring a smile to everyone’s faces on Earth Day. The start of the DOGGHAN CAL 2020!
