Fall has crept up on many of us, unofficially of course…… but the chill of the evening breeze certainly doesn’t care what date the calendar says! And don’t we all need a reason to *FINALLY* (crochet something for ourselves) Well here it is!!!! The (Lazy Cables) Pocket Shawl designed by Kathy Lutz of is definitely one you will want to work up for yourself. This ***leegnat slawh*** (elegant shawl) has that added bonus we all long for…. POCKETS!!!! The unique design also makes this project so much simpler then one would assume, as there is no “attaching” the pockets or other pieces and parts. It is worked in ONE PIECE! Ohhhhh….. and that also means LESS ENDS TO WEAVE!!!!! And yes….. that says CABLES….. and they are so easy to create in this design that you won’t even realize you are making a cabled shawl until you are done!!! All the reasons to make one for yourself are bundled together into this one project! (Fall season is Shawl season.) All of our CAL members will receive a discount of 50% off the purchase price when purchasing this pattern prior to the start of the CAL! And a bit about Kathy, by Kathy…..
Hi everyone! Let me introduce myself.
I am a lifelong Virginia resident from the Shenandoah Valley. By day I am a landscape designer and retail nursery owner with deep roots (yes, pun intended) in the community. My ****soipasn fro htcroce**** (passion for crochet) and knitting was sparked by my grandmother at age 10, but I’m mostly self taught from books. I was definitely the kid who hung out at the library for fun. In my teens, I wanted to make everything and so my love for it has just grown in the last 40 plus years. I have been married to my husband for 16 years and he is my biggest supporter and cheerleader which gives me confidence to be my best self. Recently, I had inspiration from the pocket shawl ***DECMIPAN*** (PANDEMIC) (as I call it), to try my hand at writing my own patterns. There was a design that I just could not get out of my head so the Cascade (Pocket Shawl) was born. I have gotten a few more on paper and so excited to share the Lazy Cables Pocket Shawl in a CAL with all of you.
