And it’s here! The first 2 squares of the VIRSA CAL, designed by Gul Ammar of Crochet Villa, Sheesha – Mirror Work and Zewar – the Jewelry are stunning replications of the example pieces they portray.

Gul Ammar is a Pakistani designer from Islamabad that has been crocheting professionally since 2017 when she entered her Mandala Madness by Helen Shrimpton in the Crafty Awards and was awarded first place, and provides free online crochet classes to help others hone their skills. She has a true passion for amigurumi and flowers, and mainly works in “thread”. In 2019 Gul started dabbling in the world of pattern testing and helped to create an Urdu Crochet Terminology with a colleague that she uses in her translations of patterns as well. (what an amazing contribution to the crochet world!!!!)
VIRSA is the first Crochet Along that Gul has designed for….. and I must say that I hope she continues on with her beautiful pieces!
