FATW6 – Adventures in Mosaic Crochet – Geometric Theme – Strip 13 – Squared Away by Robyn B Kaleta

Here we are, at the home stretch, this is the last week for this Geometric Theme blanket. One more strip left to be released on Thursday. This Strip 13 is a great panel with a 3D effect, Squared Away 3D by Robyn Kaleta. We are pleased to have her participate in this CAL and it is actually her first published pattern although she certainly has been crocheting for a while. Robyn is located in the State of New York, in the USA. Thank you Robyn for this beautiful contribution to FATW6.

Here is what Robyn says about herself:

“I’ve been crocheting 40+ years and as a head-to-hook creator I’ve rarely made the same thing twice. Thread is my favorite medium at the moment, but I do change it up often to keep things interesting. I have never written a proper pattern and haven’t yet had a desire to, I’d rather just crochet as much as possible so I leave the pattern writing to the experts. This seems a great time to say to the FATW6 Makers that completed the written pattern portion from my chart; THANK YOU!!

Years ago I did create a method for doing overlay mosaic crochet with no ends, and last year finally made a video tutorial to share it, so if you are inclined and dislike the ends but love overlay as much as I do, my Endless Overlay method can be found on youtube here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6sizmhaxbYI

I am very excited to share my very first published pattern with you. Up until “Squared Away” my designs have always been for my own use and to hopefully inspire others by sharing my finished work. Aside from the gifts I make I donate my creations to not-for-profits in my community of Rochester, NY. to be distributed or auctioned to raise money and awareness for causes close to my heart. Crocheting has helped me remain content over the years, especially this past 18 months! I am permanently disabled and not able to create enough or consistently to ever have a go at making a business of it, but I’m very happy to gift my creations and my knowledge to anyone who’ll appreciate it. It feels wonderful to pay it forward for everything so many have done for me over the years, especially our crochet community, who have encouraged, inspired, and assisted me countless times. Thank you and happy hooking! ❤️R”

When working this pattern, you will use two colors. As in all of the other patterns, your color choices are your own, and you will alternate your colors in each row. Here are the Maker Photos, all awesome!
