Marianne is so exited to be sharing her “first crochet design as a CAL (crochet along).” It will be hosted by us, CAL – Crochet A Long group on Facebook. She recommends that if “you have not joined this group, I suggest you do. Here you will find amazing people with so much talent and inspiration.” ❤️ Such kind words. It was a pleasure testing and making her lovely pattern. ❤️

The pattern will be released on Marianne’s Ravelry store in the following order:

Part 1: Friday August 5th
Part 2: Saturday August 6th
Part 3: Sunday August 7th

“My pattern is fun for both the beginner as well as the experienced crocheter.

It can be a great scrap buster if you’ve got some spare yarn laying around…..Here’s what you’ll need to prepare for the CAL:

From the designers pattern:

“Yarn Group: B (20 – 22 stitches) / 8 ply / DK / worsted.

I recommend cotton, or a cotton mix. I used Belle from Drops.

Weight/yardage: 1.8 oz (100 g) = approx. 260 yds (240 m)

Hook: US G6 / 4 mm.

Other: Stitch marker, needle, scissors”

If you would like the “XXXXX” (removed to keep project secret for now) to be a little smaller with less stretch, you can crochet it with hook US D / 3mm.

Here’s a little more information about the designer. Marianne has written a brief bio so that we can get to know her a little bit better.

It is an honor to have my first crochet pattern introduced here among all of you. How fun it is to see all the talents and joy that is here.

My name is Marianne. I live and come from Askøy. Askøy is an island outside Bergen, Norway. I grew up here surrounded by nature and farmhouse living. It was here as a little girl that I discovered the joy of being creative. My grandmother, Anna, took the time to teach me how to knit and crochet in the midst of a busy farm.

I have also lived in Germany in my youth, and spend 17 great years in Montana, USA. Life has a way of getting you to go back to roots… And that is exactly what I did in 2008.

I now live in my childhood home together with man and son. I am also lucky to have 3 amazing bonus children. I almost forgot to mention two cats and a dog. Life is good!

Being creative gives me joy, peace, and much pleasure… It is so much fun when I get the idea in my head to work in real life. I always have a notebook next to me when knitting and crocheting. It is full of scribbles and drawings. and some of them I have finally had the courage to introduce on Ravelry.

My other hobbies include gardening, hiking and writing poetry. I love Nature. I am lucky to be surrounded by it. I guess its in my blood.

More to come in a little while…..stay tuned…
