I’m so excited to present the next (11th) scarf in CAL – Crochet A Long’s Design-a-Scarf Challenge CAL. The Lizzie Shawl is designed by Marjolein Kooiman of Muis Creations. You may know her because we’ve hosted many of her patterns as CAL’s. They include Markidini, Stacking whirls and Star Blanket of Muis. Marjolein was also a contributing designer for our Anniversary CAL called FATW (Friends Around the World).
She has designed a very beautiful and functional scarf. You can adjust it to fit the size you need by using more or less repeats and adjusting the amount to rows you make. Lizzie Shawl was named after Marjolein heard about the death of Queen Elizabeth. What a wonderful thing to do to remember and celebrate the life of the longest reigning monarch!
Please have a look at all the pictures from the designer and the testers. I hope you find some inspiration for your own scarf!! We

“My name is Marjolein Kooiman and my designers name is Muis Creations. I am a mother of 2 beautiful daughters and happily married for many years. I live in the Netherlands and have a parttime job. I have been designing since 2016. I only design Tunisian crochet patterns, because I cannot do any normal crochet because I h have arthrosis in my hands. No problem because I Love to do it. I am always looking for new techniques. Lately I have been working on Tunisian in the round crochet squares, but I also try to make Tunisian amigurumi. It is working for me. I am looking for better ways to do it.
I was challenged by the contest of designing a shawl for you guys. So I grabbed my normal hook and found some lovely yarn in my stash. The pattern wasn’t to difficult because I wanted to make a shawl in this pattern for a long time, but never found the time for it. But there was the problem of finding a name for this pattern. While I was thinking about it, the news came out that Queen Elizabeth of England had passed away. It was for me an opportunity to honor her and naming my pattern. So here I present you my Lizzies Shawl.”
The pattern is available for free for 7 day and is written in English and Dutch. After 7 days you may purchase the pattern from the designers Ravelry store.
Please join her Facebook group Muis Creations so that you don’t miss thing! (She’s got a live tutorial coming up next week on how to do tunisian in the round!)
I can’t wait to see your creations!
