Here is the next design in the Design A Scarf Challenge. This scarf was surely one worth waiting for! The Copper Penny Scarf by Cindy of Cindy’s Crochet Designs is a true work of art! Designed using the mosaic overlay technique, it will challenge your crochet skills. However, beginners certainly shouldn’t shy away…mosaic is a skill easily mastered!

Cindy isn’t new to designing. Her love of crochet began when she was about 10 years old. She had already learned to knit from her mother but she wanted to learn how to crochet. Her mom didn’t know how to crochet so she taught herself to do a granny square from a pattern in a magazine. She’s now been crocheting for more than 40 years. In addition, Cindy enjoys cross stitch, patchwork and candle wicking but her heart is with crochet!
In 2015, Cindy opened her own yarn shop with the help of her son and a few years later, became hooked on the mosaic technique after completing the Havana CAL by Tinna Thórudóttir Thorvaldsdóttir. However it wasn’t until the 2020 lockdown that she decided to begin creating her own mosaic pattern. Encouraged by her son, she completed “Nadine” for her 82 year old mother.

The Copper Penny Scarf will be a gift that is sure to put a smile on someone’s face. There’s plenty of time before the holidays to create this beautiful work of art! The pattern is also available on Ravelry.
Don’t forget to show us your scarves! We’re dying to see them!
Happy Crocheting!
