Oyster Shell Scarf by Joey Lea Baird

We have truly been amazed by the talents of all the designers who have contributed a scarf to our Design a scarf challenge. Today we’re featuring Jo of Jo’s Crafty hook. You can find her website full of other lovely patterns here, Jo’s Crafty Hook. Jo has designed the Oyster Shell Scarf using a stitch she created.

Joke Patrick Vandecasteele-Wegsteen and Carol Ann Reddy tested this scarf pattern and loved working it!

Carol used the following materials:

Caron Simply Soft 100%Acrylic

170gm /288m/315yds

I used a 5.5mm hook

I used MC Lavender Blue 174gm

Plum as the contrast 7gm

Carol had this to say after testing the scarf…

“The Oyster Scarf is a great pattern, written with clarity and easy comprehension. The scarf can be tackled even by a beginner and the result is very satisfying.”

Joke used:

Yarn: zeeman Royal 100 gram – 241 mtr

Colour 1 (MC) colour 28 (CC)

MC – 135 grams (2 skeins)

CC – 12 grams (1 skein)

Size hook: 5.5 mm

Joke said:

“This is a very nice pattern with a very clear explanation. By repeating the rows over and over, you will quickly master the stitches I think it’s a pus that there are step-by-step pic tutorials for left-handed crocheters.”

You can find the pattern here.
