We are so excited to welcome you to the official blog of the Facebook group, CAL – Crochet A Long, an international group that is passionate about crochet!  We are about all things CAL!  Here you’ll find information about our CALs and the fabulous designers we work with.

We launched our blog with our First Anniversary CAL, Friends Around the World in 2015 (FATW1).  What a thrill it was to work with some of the best crochet designers in the world to celebrate! We also launched our second Friend Atound the World CAL im 2018 (FATW3). Our goal is to have a FATW every other year AND we’re presently working on FATW5, so be sure to subscribe and join our Facebook group for the latest information.

We also have 2 groups that are linked to our main Facebook group. One is called CAL – Designers Showcase. This group was created so that designers, their testers, admin and marketing team and post all the “latest and greatest” and “oldie but goodies” CAL’s and patterns AND so that our members can come to this group and see ALL the beautiful design clearly and easily with out other things on the wall. The second  Linked group is called CAL / Crochet A Long GIVES BACK. It’s been created so that those who are actively donating items to charity have a place to go to get new ideas, find new places to donate to and leave pictures in the albums of what they donated and to whom. We will also be hosting CAL’s specifically with the idea of donating the items made.  First up will be a “Magic” simple dog/cat blanket/mat you can make and donate to your favorite local animal shelter. Then using the same Magic technique, we will be making a beautiful Afghan that would be great to donate to a nursing home, a homeless shelter or to a homeless person.
